POLICE ARREST TWO ARMED ROBBERY GANG SUSPECTS
Twenty four hours after the state government placed a bounty on any information that will lead to the arrest of a gang of armed robbers, Abia state police command says it has tactically apprehended some two men who are allegedly members of the deadly robbery squad.
The police command on Saturday raised an alarm concerning an alleged intelligence report which showed plans to attack banks in the state.
The police public Relations officer, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, in a statement on behalf of the command, announced that through “actionable intelligence” the police in the state were able to within a few hours, arrest two of the gang.
He said efforts are in top gear to round up the remaining members, with the information received from those in their custody.
He also said, the command had concluded the profiling of the suspects.
Members of the public and financial institutions are enjoined to go about their business, as proactive measures have been put in place to check crimes in the state.
