BREAKING NEWS: POLICE ALERT CITIZENS OF PLAN TO ATTACK BANKS IN ABIA BY ARMED ROBBERY GANG; PLACE N5M BOUNTY ON ARREST OF MEMBERS
Abua state police command has raised an alarm over an alleged plans to attack banks in the state by a yet to be identified armed robbery gang.
The command is alleging that there is an intelligence report that revealed that a gang is making serious efforts to unleash mayhem on financial institutions in the state.
The Abia state government has consequently placed a bounty of 5 million naira for anyone with useful information that will lead to the arrest of the members of the said gang.
Any information that will be useful to the arrest of the gang members must be given directly to the commissioner of police himself and no other for total confidentiality.
The command has also alerted the financial institutions in the state to ensure they adopt extra security measure in their offices to possibly protect them from the planned attack.
A statement signed by SP. Geoffrey Ogbonna, the command’s public relations officer, the public is enjoined to avoids moving about with large sums of cash.
It further warns those in hospitality business to be mindful of all their lodgers, observing strange movement and gatherings.
