NGO PROVIDES POTABLE WATER FOR COMMUNITY

In order to ameliorate the water issue bedevilling most communities in Abia state, and to reduce the burden on the government, a non governmental organisation, “Otacheiro Foundation” has provided water for residents of Lowcost housing estate in Umuahia at no cost.

 

 

 

 

The aim of the project which is the pilot is to serve the immediate community which had had challenges of water over the years since there is no government water available.

 

 

 

 

The people in this estate like many others in the state buy water from those who sell if you are unable to provide borehole in your house.

This according to the project manager, PST. Elijah Irozuru informed the decision of the foundation through the sponsorship of Mr. James Otache to embark on such a project that will impact directly on the citizens while also assisting government in a way.

 

 

 

He also urged citizens with the wherewithal to see the need to help the poor who are everywhere in the society, saying the society is one of need which requires everyone to contribute in any way.

 

 

Some of the residents are thankful for such a project while calling on government to fix their terrible road as soon as possible.
