There appears to be no letting up on the avoidable but unfortunate killing of some three policemen by the Army on Wednesday by the force headquarters as they continue to demand answers to questions begging for attention.

Some three police officers, two sergeants and one inspector were allegedly gunned down by some soldiers of the 93 battalion, Takum.

The army has owned up to have executed the men but on false or mistaken identity.

The police are asking questions as to where the notorious kidnapper who happens to be a millionaire is after his release by the Army.

Some of the questions include:

Why was Alhaji Bala  Wadume released?

Why was he not taken to the Army base for documentation purpose and debriefing in line with standard operating procedure in the Nigerian Army?

Why were the police operatives shot at close range even when they had identified themselves as police officers on legitimate duty?

What is the source of the alleged distress report or identity of complainant on whose report Army claimed informed the decision to engage in the purported chase and rescue operation?

The statement posted on the twitter handle of the force headquarters, Abuja is also citing a certain viral video which captured some of the action.

The police describes as disrespectful and unpatriotic the reference made to the police officers on official duty by the Army as ” suspected kidnappers “.

According to them,  ” In the true spirit of transparency and accountability, the Nigerian Army ought to have arrested the purported distress caller if any for obviously and deliberately furnishing them with false and misleading information – besides such arrest should be made public.”
