IMO HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY DEPUTY SPEAKER RESIGNS.
24 hours after the Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly, Acho Ihim absconded with the House Mace, his deputy, Ugonna Ozurigbo, has resigned.
His resignation may not be unconnected with the current crisis rocking the legislature in that state.
He sent his resignation letter dated May 15 to the clerk of the House.
The legislators of the Imo Assembly had suspended the speaker and the majority leader, Lugard Osuji and subsequently served impeachment notices on them.
A total of 21 out of 27 legislators signed the impeachment documents.
