Joint petition by APC, APGA and Accord party presented at Abia collation centre
Opposition parties Abia state have called for the outright cancellation of the state elections that held on the 9th March, 2019.
The parties consisting of APC, APGA, Accord party and the IPAC chairman in a statement jointly drafted had rejected the results as announced by the collation officers from the various local government areas so far declared.
They claimed that against the wishes of the people, the ruling PDP went on to manipulate the results in connivance with the INEC officials.
The people said they have lost confidence in INEC and cannot submit to its conduct anymore.
They are therefore calling for a rescheduling of the elections.
Similarly, the APGA chairman in the state, Austin Ehiemere also submitted a petition to the REC to register the rejection of the results announced so far.
Already, 14 out of 17 LGA results have been declared so far with the candidate of the PDP leading in 10 LGA’s, while APC has won 3 and APGA 1.
