NIGERIA DECIDES: ABIA REC APPEALS TO ELECTORATE TO USE CARD READERS FOR MARCH 9 POLLS.

The Resident Electoral Commission in Abia State, Mr. Joseph Iloh has assured Abia citizens that the governorship and House of Assembly elections slated for Saturday the 9th of March 2019 will be conducted in strict compliance with the electoral laws and guidelines.

Fielding questions from journalists at the INEC headquarters in Umuahia, Mr. Iloh admonished the electoral to ensure they use the card readers as directed for the polls.

He said any place where the device was not used for the election, will be cancelled, and so appealed to the people to be patient.

He said the exercise will commence by 8am as planned while the results will be ready and announced by Sunday morning at the INEC headquarters in Umuahia.

He further condemned the use of other people’s children as thugs to disrupt the elections, while their own children are kept away from such practice

Already, the commission has commenced distribution of materials both sensitive and non sensitive from the Central Bank to the various local government areas of the state with police escorts.
