Hon. Chidi Nwosu- Abia state SDP chairman
The Abia state chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Hon. Chidi Nwosu has described the party’s Local government chairmen who adopted governor Okezie Ikpeazu as failed officials who compromised for their selfish gains.
He accused the state government of wooing the said men to his side with the sum of 1million naira each.
According to Nwosu, instead of the governor to use such resources to pay pensioners in the state, he decided to waste in on useless ventures.
He also asserted that if for any reason the party decides to form an alliance with any political party, it would certainly not be the PDP which he described a failed party.
The SDP chairman who also took a swipe of the “compromised members”, alleged that after the presidential elections, they discovered that the LG chairmen of SDP did not understand their jobs at that level.
He said the state leadership was already making moves to sanction them before the new of the current development.
Chidi Nwosu reiterated that the only governorship candidate the party has in the state and will support for the March 9 elections is H. Dame Blessing Nwagba.
The state Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kaluin a telephone interview denied knowledge of any compromise by the state government, and stated that the issue is entirely a party affair.
