BREAKING NEWS: INEC OFFICIALLY POSTPONES PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
The presidential Elections slated to hold Saturday the 16th of February will no longer hold, according to INEC.
The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Mr. Mahmood Yakubu made this announcement to journalists about 2.44am.
He announced that the exercise will now hold on the 23rd of February, a week from today, while the governorship and house of Assembly elections formerly slated for the 2md of March comes up on the 9th of March..
In his words, “Following careful review of the implementation of its logistics and operational plan and determination to conduct free, fair and credible elections, the commission came to the conclusion that proceeding with the elections as scheduled is no longer feasible.”
Despite assurances by the commission that nothing will disturb the process, INEC has finally put to rest all speculations about the shift.
