The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic party in the February 2019 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has advised the younger voters to ensure they do not leave the polling units after casting their ballots until the results are collated, counted and entered in the appropriate documents to avoid rigging by the electoral umpire.
Alhaji Atiku who was at the Umuahia Township stadium in continuation with his presidential campaign with his team, also urged the people to reject the incumbent government of the All Progressives Congress by voting it out of power come February 16.
“It is a government you must reject, it is a government you must vote out on the 16th of February.
The presidential hopeful who described the 2019 election as one in a lifetime, also added “it is an election that will determine whether you want to continue with youth unemployment.”
He assure the people of the state that if elected, his government will support small and medium scale entrepreneurs in Aba to excel further.
He solicited the people’s votes, reminding them that the state has always been loyal to the PDP, believing the loyalty will continue as according to him, the party had brought progress and unity to the state.
His running mate, Mr. peter Obi promised Abia people that within the first two years of their government in office, the road linking Aba and Port-harcourt will be completely fixed.
He also told the people that they will work in unity with the state government to realize the Enyimba Industrial City, saying that the governor would not need to “go begging in Abuja”.
Obi insisted that theirs is for the people, and enjoined them not to take them for granted, adding that the hunger and hardship in the country must be addressed.

Mr. Secondus was quite particular about the process of the elections and did not spare any words in warning INEC about the consequences of rigging the polls.
“If you rig the elections, you will bring crisis and violence,” he said.
“they are for war, but we are for peace, we are warning all concerned to play by the rules, we will reject rigged elections, we will not accept foreigners participating in our elections as they have already encouraged foreigners to campaign with and for APC.” he said.
He further called on the relevant authorities to ensure the security of the borders during elections.
Wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Jamaila Atiku encouraged those who were yet to get their permanent voters cards to do so within next week to enable them vote and solicited for their support for her husband and other PDP candidates in Abia state.
The venue for the rally was the Umuahia Township stadium which had previously hosted such rallies during past elections where the government in control in the state enjoyed a seeming support of majority of the citizens which they show in their crowd attendance.
Truth must be told that even though, rallies don’t win elections, the state government failed in mobilizing the people for the presidential rally.
