2019: ABDUCTED APC CHAIRMAN REGAINS FREEDOM.

The Abia state chairman of the All progressives Congress, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa has finally been freed by his abductors few hours after the state working committee pleaded for his safe release by his abductors.
He was said to have been released on Thursday night after spending three days in the kidnappers’ den.
Hon. Nwankpa was kidnapped on Monday with one of his aide, on their way to Aba for the party’s presidential rally.
While the aide regained freedom almost immediately, Nwankpa remained in their captivity.
Confirming the development, the Publicity secretary of the party, Mr. Benedict Godson said the chairman was returned in good health and thanked all those who through their prayers and well wishes contributed to the successful return of the chairman.
He further thanked the gubernatorial candidate and other stakeholders of the party for their support and intervention during the time of the chairman’s travails.
He also said that Nwankpa was released unconditionally with no ransom paid.
Police commissioner in the state, Mike Ezike further confirmed the development, saying he was released unhurt by his abductors.
