Dissociates self from the endorsement…..
Accuses the leadership of factionalizing the apex body…..

The Youth arm of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, the Igbo apex socio cultural organization has ordered the Nnia Nwodo led executive of the Ohaneze Ndigbo to immediately withdraw the endorsement it allegedly unilaterally gave the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for his presidential bid.

The group is accusing the leadership of failing to consult widely among the various segments of the organization before taking such a position and going ahead to declare it.
Ohaneze Ndigbo World wide recently announced its endorsement of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as president in the 2019 presidential election.

The national publicity secretary of the Ohaneze Youth wing, Chief Osmond Nkeoma in a press conference in Umuahia on Wednesday, dissociates the youth wing from the endorsement.

He said the Ime-Obi leadership did not also take into consideration the diverse interests of the members of the organization , saying the endorsement has polarized and ridiculed the highly respected Ohaneze Ndigbo socio-cultural Organisation. He said they only cared about “their personal interest above the interest of the Ndigbo and by their actions drawn the ire majority of Igbo leaders especially members of other political parties and non- partisan Igbo sons and daughters, this action is suicidal and capable of infuriating conflict”

He however said that the youth wing has restrained itself from towing the path of Nnia Nwodo and Arthur Obiora, of aligning with one candidate, but stated that they have resolved to support president Buhari to do more for the South East to ensure they produce the president in 2023, to ensure that the second Niger Bridge is completed in good time, to ensure Nigeria is restructured for rapid development, to ensure there is an additional state for the zone among others.

While insisting that the youth wing was not consulted or carried along in taking such an important position, Mr. Nkeoma flanked by Dr. Okey Nwachukwu and Madukibe Uchenna, said they will mobilise the youth for the forth coming elections and also protect their votes.

The group thanked some of the elders of the socio-cultural organization , especially Chief John Bosco Onunkwo for his efforts and commitment towards the actualization of the Igbo project .
