SHEHU SANI ADVISES NEW IGP
As the new Inspector General of Police, resumes duty, senator Shehu Sani has suggested what he must do to succeed as the police boss.
Aware of the disrespect for the rule of law exhibited by the immediate past IGP, Idris, Sani advised the new IGP to take orders only from the constitution.
He said he the IGP must not be partisan, but rather be on the chase of bandits, armed herdsmen, militia, cultists, kidnappers and not critics.
The senator encouraged IGP Adamu to reduce the number of his men drafted to guard the elites and rather deploy them to protect the masses.
These advises were contained in Sani’s tweet on his official handle, @shehusani, where he urged the police boss to upgrade his men, obey court summons, protect peaceful protesters and finally avoid spreading butter with matchete.
IGP Adamu Mohammed took over from Idris Ibrahim whose tenure ended on Monday when he clocked 60 years of age.
