IPOB: MEMBERS HOLD PEACEFUL PROTEST IN UMUAHIA AMIDST POLICE HARASSMENT

Members of the Indigenous people of Biafra, (IPOB), in their thousands on Tuesday defied police harassment to hold a peaceful protest around Umuahia metropolis.
The members who were all dressed in Jewish regalia, had a peaceful march which caused a traffic build up along Ibiam road to Club road until the police used tear gas to disperse them.
It was almost becoming difficult scare them using teargas until they increased the volume .
The situation became tensed when the police tried to arrest some of their members.
Some persons interviewed said they are agitating for independence of Biafra as a sovereign state. According to them, they want to return to the days of Biafra and take their own destiny in their hands.
Some IPOB members were seen been arrested by the police, even as the PPRO, Geoffery Ogbonna could not be reached for confirmation of the number of persons arrested by the police.
