Nemesis has finally caught up with the suspect who allegedly murdered an Umuahia based pastor in his residence about three weeks ago.

The pastor, Blessed Iwuanyanwu of wind of Glory church, was found dead in his apartment in Umuobia in Olokoro, Umuahia south Local Government Area of Abia state alongside his assistant and woman leader.

Since his mysterious death, the police have been on the trail of his assailants and were able to round up one Pastor Prosper Peter from Ahiazu Mbaise in Imo state.

Intelligence gathering of the police and collaborative efforts of the state police command and the zone nine police command led to the successful arrest of the suspect.

The suspect in his confession admitted to have committed the crime with the help of three other guys who he contracted to execute the task.

According to Prosper, the reason for his act was as a result of breach in contract by the slain pastor who he said had not kept his own part of the bargain since 2013 when he took him to Ikare in Ondo state for spiritual powers from a “babalowo” to grow his church.

He said Blessed was meant to refund him the sum of 200,000 naira after the sojourn and since he refused to do so decided to take him out.
On why he decided to kill the assistant pastor and woman leader of the church, Prosper said he was not aware there were other people in the house which negates the account of the assistant pastor’s girlfriend who claimed he was invited by the pastor to his house the night they were murdered.

Prosper and his gang did not only kill the pastor and the other two, they also made away with his phone, TV, and other personal belongings of the pastor including his SUV.

The wife of the suspect, who was equally paraded by the police denied knowledge of any of the husband’s evil activities, saying her own life was in danger with him since their marriage that has produced three kids.

The state commissioner of police, Anthony Ogbizi says investigations still continue to arrest the other members of the gang while Prosper will be prosecuted any moment from now.
