NLC SUSPENDS PROPOSED STRIKE OVER MINIMUM WAGE
President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Want has announced the suspension of the planned industrial action today, 6th November following an agreement reached by the tripartite committee.
He disclosed this to journalists at the end of the meeting late Monday night in Abuja.
According to him, consensus had been reached by all the parties on an acceptable figure as minimum wage which he failed to disclose.
The committee chairman, Ms Ama Pepple supported Ayuba’s claim, and added the the position of the committee will be communicated to president Muhammadu Buhari by 4.15pm Tuesday, who will be the one to make public the amount accepted by all the parties.
The SGF, Boss Mustapha thanked the committee expressing hope that government will give expeditious implementation of the agreement to help encourage the Nigerian worker.
