Abia pipeline explosion: Atiku’s campaign team donates 10 million naira to victims

The Atiku Abubakar Campaign organization has doled out the sum of 10 million naira to support the victims of Osisioma pipeline fire in order to alleviate the plight of the victims.
The vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi made the pronouncement at the explosion site while addressing newsmen after tour of the vicinity of umuimo and Umuaduru in Osisioma.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had drafted his running mate, Mr Peter Obi to commiserate with the victims and donate some money through the Abia state government for their medical treatments and upkeep.
Addressing journalists after visiting the communities, Mr Peter Obi said that on receiving the news of the incident, the presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar directed him to come personally to Abia to identify with the State, “what happened did not happen to Abia alone but to Nigeria as a whole”, he said.
In his speech,Governor Okezie Ikpeazu thanked Alh. Abubakar for finding time to commiserate with the State at its time of grief.
He lamented that many lives were lost, buildings destroyed and many people became poor.
The Governor said that the duty of his government is to see how to bring succour to the affected people and thanked Alh Abubakar for being sympathetic.
“We are proud to have you as our leader”,he said.
He however disclosed that his government has Set up a panel of enquiry to ascertain the cause of the incident so as to be able to avert future occurrences.
