ONDO POLITICS : HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY BEGINS IMPEACHMENT PROCESS OF DEPUTY GOVERNOR
Ondo State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment process of the state’s deputy governor.
The notice of impeachment has already been signed by fourteen members of that legislature.
The deputy governor recently resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress and joined the People’s Democratic Party.
He had been in a cold war with his principal for some time now.
Speaker of the assembly, Bamidele Oyelologun has also ordered that the notice of impeachment be served on the Deputy Governor as soon as possible.
Ondo State House is made up of 26 members.
In order to legitimately impeach him, the law provides that 2/3 votes are needed and so far it is not so.
Already policemen have surrounded the assembly premises.
