SUPREME COURT CAN’T UPTURN MY VICTORY- UZODINMA BRAGS
Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma has bragged that the Supreme Court will not change its decision on the judgment that brought him to power.
He is sure that his predecessor, Emeka Ihedioha who the apex court sacked from office will not get a favourable consideration at the end of it all.
Recall that Ihedioha and the People’s Democratic Party approached the supreme Court for a review of the controversial judgement that saw Uzodinma assume leadership in Imo state.
He had come 4th in the 2019 gubernatorial election in that state, but in what seemed like a twist of fate changed the narrative in his favour- though still questionable.
Uzodinma spoke with State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Friday in Abuja.
He said the matter was already “a concluded case”.
“I am not disturbed by the PDP’s move to seek a review of the judgment. I am not concerned because I believe they are going back to the Supreme Court based on falsehood because the number of accredited votes outside the excluded votes is what they are talking about.
“But, if you are going to court, you must go to court to discuss or talk about the number of accredited votes including the excluded polling units. If you compute the number of accredited votes inclusive of the excluded voters, the figures are correct,” he stated.
Uzodinma is barely one month in office.
