ABIA APC MAY NOT HAVE CANDIDATES FOR THE 2019 GENERAL ELECTIONS; OZOEMENA
Chinwe Ugele, Umuahia
The publicity secretary of the Dr. Ndukwe led executive of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state, Mr. Mike Ozoemena, said the fate that awaits the party in the state is such that it may not participate in the 2019 general elections.
Mr. Ozoemena clearly stated that any activity carried out in the party in the state without the authorization of Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe is a nullity since the court issued an order restraining Hon. Nwankpa from parading himself as chairman.
According to him( Ozoemena), Hon. Nwankpa failed to vacate or set aside the order by the court, insisting that the outcome of the case might have a negative bearing on the party in Abia, where the state joins other states with similar situations.
He said any candidate not authenticated by Ndukwe will not be able to participate in the general elections going by the position of the law.
Mr. Ozoemena also described the unfortunate situation at the high court in Okpuala Ngwa on Wednesday as an act of desperation from the Hon. Donatus Nwankpa camp over what might likely be the outcome of the case at hand.
In an exclusive interview with CSUnews, Mr. Ozoemena minced no words at pointing accusing fingers at the supporters of Hon. Nwankpa, who he said were only exhibiting their fear in the possibility of losing the case.
He narrated how he managed to escape from the court vicinity after his car’s windshield had been smashed, and appealed to the security operatives to do all they can to protect the court.
Some thugs on Wednesday stormed the High Court at Okpuala Ngwa, causing the adjournment of the matter even before the arrival of the presiding judge.
