In what appeared to be one of the major upsets in soccer games in Nigeria, Rangers International football club of Enugu on Wednesday lifted the AITEO cup
For the second time since its establishment.
Rangers came from a three goals down to draw the goals and went ahead to win
Kano pillars in the finals from the spot which ended 4-2.
The first half of the match played at the Stephen Keshi International stadium, Asaba in Delta state witnessed a fierce Pillars side netting in two goals and one more in the early minutes of the second half.
Kano Pillars were having a field day, outclassing their opponents, Rangers until the 77th minute of the match when Rangers reacted through Kevin Itoya who scored their first goal, followed by Chidera Eze in the 82nd minute. By the 2nd minute of the additional 8th minutes, Rangers have levelled up with pillars.
At regulation time, the match ended 3-3 and was decided via a spot kick which
saw the goal keeper substitute , Bonsu saving one kick while the Pillars skipper,
Rabui Alli who was wonderful throughout the game, shot wide.
The fans of Rangers and spectators were thrown into frenzy at the turn of events
And went wild with jubilations.
The winners of the 2018 AITEO cup, Rangers International FC, smiled home with N25 million dummy cheque, while kano Pillars collected N10 million.
